Counseling & Family Therapy Research Guide

Use this guide to help your research in the discipline of counseling & family therapy!

Search for Books using CentralSearch

 

Type in keywords. Use quotation marks to search a phrase (ex: "family counseling in school"). Look for more search strategies on the "Search Tips" page of this guide. Books may be available in print or online format.

To find reference books, add the word reference to your search. 

To find ebooks, filter your results to Online (under 'Format' in the left hand column of the results page).

Finding Physical Books in the Library

Depending upon the perspective of counseling you are researching, you will find most print books related to Counseling and/or Family Therapy on STACK 1 (psychological perspectives), STACK 4 (sociological perspectives) or STACK 6 (medical perspectives) in the Library.

For browsing purposes, most books will be under the call numbers of

BF637 (Stacks Level 1) - Psychological perspectives

HQ10-HV700 (Stacks Level 4) Sociological perspectives

LB1027 (Stacks Level 4) School counseling perspectives

RC480 (Stacks Level 6) Psychiatric/Medical perspectives
