Evaluating Sources

What you'll need to know about evaluating sources

Start Here with Evaluating Sources

There is a lot of information available, however, not all of it is valid, useful, or accurate. Evaluating sources of information that you are considering using is important personally, academically, and
professionally. A checklist such as TRAAPS can be helpful to recognize some of the important criteria involved in evaluation. However, an activity such as 'Lateral Reading' may provide additional needed insight on authority and purpose of the information, for example. And different types of information - news, social media postings, media - may require a different approach.
