Frequently Asked Questions - Library Services - Academic Year 20-21
Protecting the health of the CCSU community during the coronavirus is the overarching principle guiding the opening of the Elihu Burritt Library in the 20-21 academic year. Service levels have changed. Here's what you need to know:
What should I know if I visit the library building?
Masks and social distancing are required.
No food or drink is allowed.
Library stacks are closed to users.
Additional study areas for CCSU students, faculty and staff are open on Stack 3, by the Media Center window, Stack 5 study rooms and Stack 7.
The book stacks areas on all Stack levels continue to be closed for browsing.
How do I get a book from the library?
Request your material online, then pick up at the Circulation Desk, near the front door.
See Getting Books
Will computers be available for use?
There are 11 computers on the 2nd floor & 5 computers on the 4th floor available for current CCSU students and faculty only. These machines have "SaniType" keyboards that are easy to clean. There are disinfecting wipes available on both floors. Patrons are responsible for wiping the keyboard and mouse down, before and after each use.
No, unfortunately, for sanitary reasons, there are no printers available within the Library. Printing is available in the Student Center; instructions found here.
How about if I need help with Research or have other questions?
The reference desk on the library's 2nd floor will not be staffed in-person this semester however our librarians are available to help you online through a chat-based "help desk" or ask-a-librarian email. You can also book a librarian for synchronous online consultations and research help.
