MEDLINE provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings and explosion capabilities to search citations from over 4,800 current biomedical journals.

MedlinePlus (mostly consumer health information)
MedlinePlus directs you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MedlinePlus and give easy access to medical journal articles. MedlinePlus also has extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news.

Finding articles in bibliographies and lists of search results

If you notice an interesting citation in an article, you can search for that article in the library's databases to retrieve the full text. If you cannot easily find the article within the database you are searching, try these tools:

*Note that when using either of these, you would search for the journal title, not the article title. If we subscribe to the journal (in hardcopy or electronically) you can then search the journal for a copy of the article.
