Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Interlibrary Loan is the document delivery service that supplies library materials not owned by Elihu Burritt Library to CCSU library users. Reciprocally, this service also supplies books and photocopies to other libraries for the use by their patron
Eligibility for Services
Only CCSU faculty, staff, and students are eligible for Interlibrary loan services at the Elihu Burritt Library. Community borrowers with guest borrower cards must utilize their town libraries to obtain Interlibrary Loan services.
All Interlibrary Loan requests will be submitted through the CCSU ILLiad system. New users click here to create set up a new ILLiad account and get started.
Materials Not Available Through Interlibrary Loan

Textbooks (books needed for an entire semester)

Books owned by the Burritt Library

Entire issue of journals or periodicals

Some theses and dissertations

Some audio-visual materials (videos, CDs, DVDs)

Books recently published (within the past several months)

Rare books and other fragile, old materials
Delivery
Most requests for articles are filled on average within a few hours (excluding weekends and holidays). Requests for books or media take on average 7-10 working days and is dependent on where the item(s) is coming from. We will notify you electronically when the material arrives. Interlibrary Loan books must be picked up at the Circulation desk.
