What is an annotated bibliography?

An annotated bibliography is simply a standard Works Cited page but with an annotation after each source. An annotation is typically comprised of a summary and evaluation of the source, but professors may have certain requirements that need to be met, so make sure you pay attention to the specifics of your assignment! Annotated bibliographies are a helpful step in the research process as they help you synthesize information and figure out how each source will help you write your paper.
