CCSU New Student Library Guide to resources, links and services

Borrowing Resources from the Library (Circulation Desk Policies)

When using the library, one borrows - not rents - materials. The process is cost-free to the user, as long as you return the materials by the date they are due back to the library! This is a different process than renting a book from the bookstore, where you must pay to rent the materials before you take them out of the bookstore. The process of renting a book is like renting an apartment or a car. You must pay for use of the item before you actually use it.

Course Reserves

Central Connecticut State University understands how expensive course textbooks and other required reading can get!

Course Reserves is located on the first floor of the library at the Circulation desk. It contains required and supplemental class material reserved by professors for their students. Books, photocopied material, class notes, videos, DVDs, CDs, etc. are available for short term loan, available to currently enrolled students and faculty only.

Interlibrary Loan and CSCU Loans

As a CCSU student, you can borrow materials from other CSCU libraries, the Connecticut State Library, as well as from public and academic libraries throughout the U.S.A. (through our interlibrary loan system). Please view the videos, below, to see how to access these different ways to access materials that the Elihu Burritt Library does not have!
