Business: DEI Resources for Teaching

This guide presents some approaches to finding diverse and inclusive resources for teaching in areas of business.

Inclusive Case Study Collections & Lists

Finding Inclusive Case Studies in Journals

Finding inclusive case studies in journals may take a few steps.

Some journals in areas of business education are listed below, along with pre-built queries for case studies in each journal.

After launching the query, you can add search terms that relate to an aspect of inclusion to narrow the results down further. Examples: Hispanic; Black; Latino; Indigenous; Asian American; women; senior; disability; LGBTQ; etc. The search engine may offer you alternate terms. Entering "Black" in EBSCO searches, for example, yields the suggestion "black or african american or african-american or black american." Use the full set of options to include the variations in vocabulary within the journal.

To search journals or databases not listed here, use the term "case study or case studies" along with your topic.

Finding Inclusive Case Studies in Books

Books may contain case studies as distinct chapters. To find these in CentralSearch, search for your topic and 'case study' and then filter the results by choosing Content Type > Book Chapter on the left-hand side of the results screen.

If you prefer to do a very broad search for book chapters, use WorldCat. The advanced search screen allows you to choose Format > Chapter. The library can request book chapters for you via InterLibrary Loan. These are delivered electronically as scans.
