This document gives you basic step by step instructions on how to use the databases eBook Central by ProQuest and eBook Collection by EBSCO to search for eBooks. Screenshots are provided to call out certain areas of each database.
There is no overriding rule for how many pages a student can print from an eBook. The number of pages a patron is allowed to print from an eBook is specific to each eBook and/or platform. Read the other information in this box to find out where in the major databases you can locate the statements on printing permissions.
When you are viewing an eBook from the EBSCO eBook Collection through the online viewer, the printing permissions are available in the top left corner of the online viewer under the section “Publisher Permissions”. The permissions for this particular eBook allow you to print, email, or save up to 100 pages of this eBook.
When you are viewing the bibliographic record for an eBook in ProQuest eBook Central, the printing permissions can be found in two places: pages remaining for PDF and under the “Download PDF Chapter” link. The permissions for this particular eBook allow you to download and print up to 50 pages.
The R2 Digital Library enables users to print sections of any resource on the platform. There is a printing limit of 60 pages or 20% of the total number of HTML pages that make up the resource on the R2 Digital Library.
