This is a guide about CCSU library services for 2021, including information about hours & services available for students, faculty, and guests, both in-person at the Elihu Burritt & via the web.

This guide explains how you can use library services or access library resources, at the library or online. We are here to help you with your research & learning needs (check out our Ask a librarian chat, book a consultation, or seek instruction for your class).

icon of doors half openWelcome! Protecting the health of the CCSU community is important to the Elihu Burritt Library, which follows the CCSU Blueprint for Fall 2021. Here's what you need to know:


How do I get a book from the library?
You may browse the stacks (see the map), search the catalog, or request your material online. Check out (or pick up ordered materials) at the Circulation Desk near the front door. See Getting Books.
What should I know if I visit the library building?
Masks and social distancing are required. Library stacks are open for browsing & steady space. No food or drink is allowed in the library (there are tables you can use outside or in the Student Center next door). icon of doors half open
Will computers be available for use?
There are computers on the 2nd and 4th floors available for current CCSU students and faculty only. There are disinfecting wipes available on both floors. Patrons are responsible for wiping the keyboard and mouse down, before and after each use.
What about WiFi?
The library offers students, faculty, and staff wireless network access.See the  IT department's Wireless Network page
How about if I need help with Research or have other questions?
Librarians can help you in-person (2nd floor), through an online chat-based "help desk", and/or you can book a librarian for live Webex-based consultations and research help..
I'm a faculty member...how do I request  services I am used to?
Are there printers and scanners I can use?
Yes, printers are available on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th floors. Scanners are available on the 1st and 2nd floors.
How can I access Special Collections/Archives?
Limited scan & pick-up service is available. See details on our Special Collections & Archives guide.
How do I get an item on Course Reserve?
