Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

If you are looking for an article or book chapter that is not available at the Burritt Library, you can request it via our Interlibrary Loan system, and our librarians will find it for you at another library and deliver you a scanned copy as a PDF.

Eligibility for Services

Only CCSU faculty, staff, and students are eligible for Interlibrary loan services at the Elihu Burritt Library. Community borrowers with guest borrower cards must utilize their town libraries to obtain Interlibrary Loan services.

All Interlibrary Loan requests will be submitted through the CCSU ILLiad system.  New users click here to create set up a new ILLiad account and get started.

Materials Not Available Through Interlibrary Loan

Currently, only book chapters and articles are available through interlibrary loan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the library is not filling requests for loans of books or other physical media at this time.

Delivery

Most requests for articles are filled within a few days, and often within a few hours (excluding weekends and holidays). You will receive an email notification when your request has been filled.

First Time Users

This will take you to the ILLiad account creation page where you can create an account that will allow you to request materials from other libraries. When creating an account, make sure to have your BlueChip ID number available and be sure to use a valid CCSU provided email address.
