Counseling & Family Therapy Research Guide

Use this guide to help your research in the discipline of counseling & family therapy!

Accessing Books and Full-Text Articles from Other Libraries

When CCSU doesn't have a book you need, try looking in Central Search's option for "CSUs, CCs, State Library, Charter Oak" to see if any of our sister schools own the title you need before buying it. Through the CSCU request system (that doesn't have a name, yet), you can request that a source or sources be delivered to CCSU's Elihu Burritt Library and then pick up your books in the Elihu Burritt Library. Please don't wait until the day your paper is due to request the book or article as it should take a few days to process the request.

When neither CCSU nor any of the other CSCU libraries have the full texts of articles you need, it's very likely that you can get the article through the Interlibrary Loan system, ILLiad. Setting up an account will only take you a couple minutes and is free to all CCSU students, faculty and staff! Once you have submitted a request for the full text of an article, it should take just a few hours to receive the live link to the full text of the article in your CCSU email box as long as it has been digitized somewhere in the world! Please let our interlibrary loan specialist know if you have any trouble requesting or receiving any materials.
