Virtual Library Services During Emergency Campus Closure

Due to the current COVID19 / Coronavirus-related emergency campus shutdown, the library has put together this special guide to virtual library services.

Incorporating Library Resources into your Blackboard Course(s)

You have seamless access to Library resources in all Blackboard courses including access to databases, research and citation guides and more.

There are two main access points:

  1. For faculty who have already built their courses, you can now upload Library Resources as a Content Area by following these instructions, “Library Resources Content Area Template”.
  2. Library Resources have also been added to Blackboard’s “Pre-built Templates” – Basic, Enhanced, and Enhanced Plus (Accessing and Installing Pre-Built Templates).

Any questions regarding these instructions should be directed to IDTRC at IDTRCStaff@ccsu.edu or 860-832-2081.

In addition, instructional librarians are available to collaborate with faculty on online library resources customized to their individual courses such as course-specific research guides, tip sheets, and more. If you are interested in finding out more about this service, contact Joy Hansen at jhansen@ccsu.edu. We are also happy to discuss the needs of courses created in Moodle.
