Purpose of Guide

Use this guide to quickly find resources supported by the Burritt Library that will connect you with books, articles, and other materials in education. Here is a guide of the kinds of information you will find on each page:

  1. Find Articles: a list of databases that are typically used by education majors, video tutorials on how to search for articles and how to access full text articles, information on how to access databases from off campus, and a sub-page for a list of journals from top educator's associations.
  2. Find Books: a list of Library of Congress Call Numbers for books on education, a selection of available education reference books, video tutorials on how to find and access books in the library, and a link to our guide on how to access eBooks.
  3. Websites: links to websites for professional education associations and councils, certification information and teacher preparation programs, educational research, teacher education resources, and a tutorial on how to evaluate websites.
  4. Classroom Resources: links to websites and resources that can be used in the classroom for a variety of disciplines.
  5. Learning Objectives & Learning Outcomes: information on the differences between learning objectives and learning outcomes and how to establish them.
  6. RefWorks Citation Manager: an introduction to the library supported citation manager, RefWorks, and information on how to use its basic functions.
