The always excellent Mozilla Foundation offers a list of ways to tell if an image is generated by AI. Some of symptoms of AI-generated graphics at this point in time may include:

  • Odd-looking body parts when a human or animal form is rendered
  • Text that has no meaning in the background / speech bubbles
  • Where is the image from SIFT: “Stop. Investigate the source. Find better coverage. Trace the original context.”
  • Unexplained anomalies & assymetries

See: https://foundation.mozilla.org/en/blog/ai-photo-how-to-tell/ for details and more references.
